I believe volunteering can be a wonderful experience for kids on the spectrum. Many times our kids are left out of things going on in the world, and that can cause them to feel worthless, unimportant and often depressed.
We know our kids are important members of society. They can contribute in many ways if just given the opportunity. Volunteering can give them the opportunity. Our kids can feel great knowing they're helping out and making a real difference. Their communities will see this as well.
